23rd Heart of Europe Bio-Crystallography Meeting (HEC23)
September 24-26, 2020 - Vierzehnheiligen
The Heart of Europe Bio-Crystallography Meeting (a.k.a. HEC Meeting) is an annual conference on structural biology, with an emphasis on macromolecular crystallography. Participants from Poland, Germany, Czech Republic and Austria discuss current topics in this field. Talks are mostly presented by PhD students, with the exception of the HEC lecture, which is given by an eminent scientist of the field.
The HEC meeting looks back at a tradition of more than 20 years and has grown to over 120 participants, representing more than 25 research groups from Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland. The HEC meetings are very popular with its regular attendants from academia but also from sponsoring companies, because they take place at very special locations and offer opportunities for fruitful exchange in a familiar atmosphere.
The HEC23 meeting will take place in beautiful Upper Franconia / Northern Bavaria, Germany.
It is famous for having the worlds highest brewery-density per capita in the world - and one of those breweries will actually be right next to our conference location, the "Tagungsstätte Vierzehnheiligen".
It is part of an ensemble around the pilgrimage site of the "Basilica of the Fourteen Holy Helpers" (Basilika Vierzehnheiligen).
