Lipogenesis

Lipogenesis

Fatty acids synthesis starts with acetyl-CoA and builds up by the addition of two-carbon units. The synthesis occurs in the cytoplasm of the cell, in contrast to the degradation (oxidation), which occurs in the mitochondria. The major sites of fatty acid synthesis are adipose tissue and the liver.

Please find assay kits for Acetyl-CoA.

Acetyl-CoA carboxylase induces carboxylation of acetyl-CoA into Malonyl-CoA. Please find for Acetyl-CoA carboxylase : antibodies, cDNA clones, ELISA kits, blocking peptides, assay kits.

Please find for Fatty acid synthase : antibodies, ELISA kits, peptides, cDNA clones, RNAi, assay kits, blocking peptides, primers.
