Hygromycin B is an aminoglycosidic antibiotic which inhibits protein synthesis in bacteria, fungi and mammalian cells and is used to select prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells that have been transfected with the Hygromycin gene (hyg, hph, HMA, HM+).
