Primary antibodies for immunohistochemistry CE/IVD - Pulmonary pathology

Pulmonary pathology is the subspecialty of surgical pathology which deals with the diagnosis and characterization of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases of the lungs and thoracic pleura. The lung is exposed to the outside environment, perfused by the entire cardiac output, and is sensitive to many systemic diseases, and consequently, pulmonary pathology represents a broad range of particular and systemic disease and syndromes. Pulmonary pathology includes a large spectrum of both neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases that affect the lung. Diseases of the lung can be classified into four general categories: obstructive lung disease; restrictive lung disease; infectious disease; and neoplastic disease. Neoplastic disease can be divided into small cell lung carcinoma and non–small cell lung carcinoma. The designation of non–small cell carcinoma versus small cell carcinoma is of utmost importance when determining treatment options. Small cell carcinoma is assumed at the time of diagnosis to have already metastasized.
