SEC columns - 6-5000 HR Resin
The type of resin used and the length of the column play a critical role in solving SEC-separated proteins. The choice of the resin depends on the molecular weight of the proteins that require separation and the conditions under which the separation will be performed.
ProteoSEC resins are preparative grade resins with high cross-linking performance. It is a filtration gel based on agarose designed for the preparative purification of biological molecules. Gel filtration is an efficient technique widely used for the separation of molecules depending on their size.
The 6-5000 kDa HR resin is a resin with a separation range of 6 to 5000 kDa. This resin is therefore intended for preparative purification of high molecular weight biological molecules.
We offer 3 different column sizes: 13/30, 16/60 et 26/60. The first number corresponds to the internal diameter of the column in mm and the second number corresponds to the length of the column in cm. Thus column 13/30 has an internal diameter of 13 mm and a length of 30 cm.
Loading capacity
ProteoSEC 11/30 column: up to 0.5 ml containing 25 mg protein or more if resolution is adequate.
ProteoSEC 16/60 column: up to 1 ml containing 50 mg protein or more if resolution is adequate.
ProteoSEC 26/60 column: up to 2 ml containing 125 mg protein or more if resolution is adequate.
Two columns in series
Coupling two 11/30 columns in series can increase the resolution achieved, as long as the pressure is within the column pressure limit.
