Media for plant tissue culture - Epiphytic orchid media

Media for plant tissue culture - Epiphytic orchid media

Orchids are members of the family of monocots known as Orchidaceae. This is the most diverse family of plants in the world, with over 25,000 species.
We offer several media specifically developed for the in vitro culture of orchids. These media range from basic seed sowing media to media for clonal propagation (mericloning) and stem propagation. We offer media that are composed of basic mineral salts, which must be supplemented with other components before use, as well as media that are complete and require only the addition of water.
Seed germination and micropropagation of orchids are key approaches to orchid conservation and commercial production.
There are certain aspects of orchids’ lifestyles that require special treatment when propagating and growing them. In nature, many orchids are epiphytes, growing on other plants, and some are terrestrial, growing in the ground. The culture of terrestrial orchids and epiphytic orchids is different and there are different media for these 2 types of orchids for seed sowing, multiplication, propagation or replating.
