Anti-BSEP CE/IVD for IHC - Gastrointestinal pathology

Anti-BSEP CE/IVD for IHC - Gastrointestinal pathology

Bile Salt Export Pump (BSEP) is a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters, which mediates the transport of bile acid, taurocholate and other cholate conjugates across the hepatocyte canalicular membrane into the canaliculus. BSEP is associated with progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis type 2 (PFIC2) and benign recurrent intrahepatic cholestasis type 2 (BRIC2). PFIC2 caused by mutations in the BSEP gene increases the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma in early life.
The BSEP antibody is intended for qualified laboratories to qualitatively identify by light microscopy the presence of associated antigens in sections of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections using IHC test methods. Use of this antibody is indicated, subsequent to clinical differential diagnoses of diseases, as an aid in the identification of liver disease within the context of antibody panels, the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic tests evaluated by a qualified pathologist.
