ELISA Kit PrincipleAviva Systems Biology Arginine vasopressin ELISA Kit () (OKEH02585) is based on a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter well-plate in this kit has been pre-coated with an anti-Arginine vasopressin antibody. Sample or standards are added to the wells along with a fixed quantity of biotinylated Arginine vasopressin and incubated. The Arginine vasopressin found in the sample or standards competes with the biotinylated Arginine vasopressin for limited binding sites on the immobilized anti-Arginine vasopressin antibody. Excess unbound biotinylated Arginine vasopressin and sample or standard Arginine vasopressin is washed from the plate. Avidin-HRP conjugate is added, incubated and washed. An enzymatic reaction is then produced through the addition of TMB substrate which is catalyzed by the immobilized HRP to generate a blue color product that changes yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration is measured by reading the absorbance at 450 nm which is quantitatively proportional to the amount of biotinylated Arginine vasopressin captured in the well and inversely proportional to the amount of Arginine vasopressin which was contained in the sample or standard.

Description
Alias SymbolsARGIPRESSIN; 113-79-1; Arginine vasopressin; Argipressine; Pitressin; Vasopressin (arginine form)
Protein NameArginine vasopressin
Description of TargetVasopressin is the predominant form of mammalian antidiuretic hormone. It is a nonapeptide containing an arginine at residue 8 and two disulfide-linked cysteines at residues of 1 and 6. Arg-vasopressin is used to treat diabetes insipidus or to improve vasomotor tone and blodd pressure.
