Important product change of Prostaglandin E2 ELISA Kits
As of June 1, 2015 we will be discontinuing the BT900-001 set of PGE2 kits (K018-H1, BT901-001, K018-HX1, K018-HX5, K018-C1 and K018-C5) in favour of our new Prostaglandin E2 Multi-Format EIA kit, K051-H1 and K051-H5. Our new PGE2 EIA kit will replace the -H, -HX and -C versions of the K018 kits.
The new PGE2 EIA kit is radically different. K051-H1 and K051-H5 uses an internally developed monoclonal to PGE2. The antibody which drives the performance of the assay has remarkable properties. The assay can handle all the formats and sensitivities of the K018-H, K018-HX and K018-C. Please see the comparisons below.
• Because of the rapid kinetics of the monoclonal antibody binding to PGE2 the standard curve does not change if incubated for 2 hours at room temperature or overnight at 4°C.
• By increasing the volume of diluted sample into the well from 25 µL to 50 µL or 100 µL the sensitivity of the assay can be changed to cover all PGE2 samples.
• The antibody has enhanced (lower) cross reactivity to PGE1, PGF2a and TXB2.
Samples are treated identically to the BT900-001 kits. This new kit gives you the customer, the knowledge, that the one kit you purchase will be able to handle a very wide variety of sample needs. There is no need to purchase a K018-HX kit to get enhanced sensitivity or overnight incubation format. Just increase the diluted sample volume from 25 µL to 50 µL or to 100 µL to get added sensitivity. If your lab procedure requires a 2 hour or an overnight assay the new K051-H kit will handle this change. It is also colorimetric meaning that no special plate reader is needed.

The privately held company BIOTREND Chemicals AG in Wangen / Zurich was recently established by Gunther Jaeger and Werner Hassler to provide researchers with high quality biochemicals and reagents. BIOTREND supplies approx. 1900 products under its own brand, mainly for neuroscientists in industry and academia.
BIOTREND Chemicals AG has two subsidiaries, one in Switzerland (ANAWA Trading SA (Wangen / Zurich, Switzerland, founded in 1986) and the other in Germany (BIOTREND Chemikalien GmbH in Cologne, Germany, founded in 1988). A team of highly experienced researchers and marketing specialists is offering innovative compounds such as pharmaceutical products, neurochemicals, peptides, signal transduction products and radiochemicals. The quality and purity of all products are rigorously tested and most compounds are available prepackaged from a large inventory at very competitive prices.
We are proud to present the 2nd Edition of the BIOTREND handbook, as a result of the combined experience and success of more than 50 years in the life science field, we feel that our clients need innovative neurochemicals of high quality and purity which can be obtained at fair prices. This handbook covers the pharmacological action from Adenosine to Vanilloid receptors.
